For various reasons, Guardian Demon will be going down and switched off on monday.
This doesn’t mean the end, as you know I haven’t been updating for so long now, and there are reasons for it all. But don’t worry, everything will be explained asap.
Keep an eye on http://quical.livejournal.com for more information.
Appologies.

So here’s the reason we have no comic right now.
Flash is refusing to work. Every five-ten minutes it will just freeze up and close itself down. So there’s no way I can do a comic on it, unless I do it so every five-ten minutes i save it, let it close down, and then open it again and carry on where I left off. But that will just mean in a lousy strip and I don’t want to do that.
I’m going to try un-installing and re-installing it, and see what that does.
If anyone wants to e-mail me a suggestion for another program which I can download right away and for free, that’d be greatly appreciated.
If worst comes to worst, i’ll borrow one of the college macs and do it on there tomorrow whilst I’m on break.
Will try my best to have it up tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience.

I’m sure most of you have heard about the micro-blogging service called Twitter. If not, go straight away to www.twitter.com to sign up!
I’ve been using twitter for almost a year now (maybe over a year?) and I still love it. It’s a service which allows you to update whatever you’re doing, whenever you’re doing it.
I’ve got it on my mobile so i can update whenever, and also got a plug-in for firefox (Available from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5081 ). To say that twitter has changed my internet life, or even my life in general is an understatement.
With a twitter, whenever I want to tell people what i’m doing, i can, and I won’t forget to tell them later if anything particularly interesting happens.
Which is why I encourage everyone who reads this to get involved. Sign up to twitter, tell your friends, get more people on, and also follow me :D.
www.twitter.com/quical is me, I’m constantly updating, so join twitter, add it to your mobile, get the add-on for your browser, or download one of the twitter programs which keep you up to date from your very desktop (I recommend twhirl, available from http://www.twhirl.org/ ). It really is fantastic, so sign up, and follow me, and send me an @quical message saying hi.
Putting @ and then someones twitter username makes the message directly sent to them, so they’ll know who you are referring to, and only people who follow the both of you will see the message.
Hope to see you all on soon!

On request, i’ve made two Guardian Demon wallpapers.
Flash spazzed out a bit whilst making them, so there’s some small mistakes with the outline, but from the people who have them so far, i’ve had positive feedback.

I’m pretty sure that if you click on them, then they’ll get bigger. If you want them in different screen sizes then just ask. I make them based on my own screensize, so they obviously won’t be for everyone.
Just say if you want a new screen size.
Enjoy!

Wow. Next week is 24 hour comic day.
I feel that I may as well take part, could be alot of fun. So, next saturday, starting at 10am, I am going to be making Guardian Demon strips from scratch for 24 hours. I’m hoping to get a load out, and i’ll put what time I started and finished them all along with each comic. It’s going to be alot of fun, but hard work as well.
It’s not just making the comics, each one has to be written during the 24 hours as well, no writing beforehand. I’m going to be doing a whole storyline in 24 hours. Hopefully do it well too.
Anyone want to make guesses on how many i’m going to be able to do? Feel free to e-mail me: cal@gd-comic.com or just leave a comment. Person/people that guess correctly get featured in the next comic storyline. How fun!

How many blog posts do I do before the bottom one gets knocked off the page?
I wonder…
September 28th, 2008
I’ve made a decision.
After every story arc, for a bit of fun, i’m going to do a week or so of ‘Guest scripts’ which is where you lot (the fans) are able to send in a script you have for a comic, and i’ll draw it up for you.
So, i’m looking for guest scripts! Already got four done.
Rules are:
Must be a one comic punchline, no storylines.
Maximum of four panels, minimum of one (obviously).
Nothing too complicated (i’m only human).
Nothing offensive towards people you know.
Nothing X-Rated (Don’t think I could draw porn anyway…)
That’s it :D. Anything sent in after the end of the week will be discarded. So you have one week!
Guest script week starts tomorrow.
Send all scripts to cal@gd-comic.com
I look forward to it!

When I said that I would NEVER miss an update, I didn’t realise how much work I would be getting from things like college, and other areas of life. It’s difficult to shift it all around and have time to do a comic at the same time, and because of being ill lately as well, I haven’t had time or been able to do comics.
But fear not, for this weekend I shall be catching up with all comics I have missed, you’ll see!
Then we’ll be back on track, and we can forget about how awful this past week has been in terms of comics and general business. I dropped out from doing the college production (it was going to be a pantomime) in order to make sure I had time to do the comic. If I can’t do a comic at any time, i’ll bring my graphics tablet into college on a wednesday and do it then.
I owe it to everyone to make sure these comics get out in time, I am going to try my best, and have a good reason if I’m not able to.
Thankyou for being understanding.

Simply put, i’m rather ill right now, and i’m finding it incredibly hard to draw comics. I’m slowly but surely doing them, but for the next few days a few of my friends are sending me any random crap they’ve drawn really. Alot of it will probably be followed by the right amount of comics which i’ve missed. Planning to do a big catch-up session next weekend.
I’m going to try and get back on track as soon as possible, but i just cannot draw when i’m feeling like I do.
I hope you understand.

Recently me and some new friends from college went into town and filmed a video for their ‘bandecki’ video’s. It was a fun little project where we would go to people in town, ask them the time, and then say another country. The bandecki videos are generally random ideas which the guys think of doing. Usually turns out to be rather humorous, to us at least.
Here’s a link to the most recent video, which I am in: Cal and Dan ask for the time.
The comic has been receiving many kind words recently. I just keep feeling better and better about it all. It’s going up in popularity and i’m getting around five to ten NEW unique users each day. Added on to the daily visits anyway, it’s slowly rising, and I think it may actually get somewhere other then being something I just do for fun. Even if it doesn’t, i’ll carry on anyway, as I have stories to tell and it’s a hell of a lot of fun to do them.
Thank you so much to those who read it right now, and I encourage you to please, spread the word. I’d feel nothing better then knowing that more and more people are enjoying what I do.
